I'll add a note to the answer, thanks. ChrisHayes when you successfully beat a retaliation mission, the monthly income for that region is permanently increased. I do not know if the increased amount is related to the number of civilians saved though. Nothing else factors into the increase. Also, it turns out the entire continent gets a supply increase, and not just the region the mission was in.

Do you have to actually move up and rescue them, or is simply having them alive enough? ChrisHayes You need to actively move up and rescue them. Ah, interesting. That's very annoying that you have to actually move to them. As a rule, I never do that to avoid any surprise Faceless attacks or activating extra pods. ChrisHayes a Scout Ranger with the Phantom and Conceal abilities are really good to use on retaliation missions, you can quickly and relatively safely save a bunch of civilians while the rest of your squad fights aliens.

And feeding Central to a faceless. Retaliation missions can vary a lot in difficulty depending on the terrain and placement of Civvies and enemies, but there is a few things to consider. You only need to rescue 6 civvies. No bonus for more survivors. Use flashbangs and mimic beacons to lessen return fire.

If you can't kill the aliens fairly quickly, you may need to rethink your research We need bigger guns! Hellweave armour will set melee attackers on fire Originally posted by ReaperDK :. Jeffreyac View Profile View Posts.

You may know this already, but there's a mod out there in the workshop that quiets Bradford a little bit, so he's not going on and on about 'massive civilian casualties' every round. I haven't istalled it yet, so I can't say for sure how it works - though I've thought about it, as I share your frustration with his 'helpful' commentary!

My tactics - resist the urge to hurry. Advance, but methodically, and recognize that aliens that kill civilians are giving you the position of a pod. Nowhere View Profile View Posts. The game also cheats and sometimes you can see a civilian die with nothing attacking. I think I have done it once or twice but it was pure chance.

It's probably impossible to save all The game will always steal a few of them, and this is assuming you can stop aliens from killing any of them too. The aliens love taking shots at them rather than you, or flat out running away and taking their frustration out on the civilians. They don't even try to take cover or hide like any sensible person would; they literally stand out in the open waiting to be shot.
