Orange torments these fruits, veggies, etc. Only at the end of each episode, where the sudden death of each fruit is caused by a knife, do these poor edibles finally get relieved of their torture. Top review. Depressingly bad. The concept of talking fruit and a purposefully mindless protagonist to cause slapstick comedy seems simple, but it worked beautifully.

The writing, while it has never come close to being deep whatsoever, made the aggravating citrus likable and charming, and thanks to the simple nature of how each episode were made, it added to the charm, and made it something special. Well, since somewhere around the mid to s, that's now all gone. And because of this, the show itself is actually annoying to sit through, unless you're 5 years old, because they oversimplified everything.

For one, the jokes are cringe-inducing without any thought. This is mainly due to how kiddie the dialogue is, now. The production loses a lot of its charm, too. A part of what made the series special was how simple everything was. Sure, there were certainly moments where events were impressively produced and created, but they actually added to the episode that there were in.

Here, everything is made like it's a kids show, with many locations and more. Even the fruit even move a little when they talk. Mix that with the kiddie dialogue, and what you've got is a series that can only be enjoyed by kids, and nobody else, because for anyone else, it is painful to sit through.

I understand that the makers of the series wanted to appeal to a younger demographic, but this wasn't the way to do it, in my book. Instead of ruining what worked, I would've made a side series with the same characters for kids which is exactly what this feels like , and kept the old version going strong for everyone else. Unfortunately, that is not the reality we live in, and because of that, I don't know if I can recommend this at all.

There's nothing offensive about it, as it is completely harmless, but unless you're 5, there's no reason to watch this over the countless better series out there, as this is one charming series gone bad, and depressingly so.
